To help the reader understand the basic characteristics of radiofrequency (RF) coils and the electromagnetic fields inside a biological object, we developed a software program called MRIEM, which can be downloaded here. This software program can be used to demonstrate the analysis of a variety of RF coils and the calculation of the RF fields and the specific absorption rate (SAR) in the human head. However, the software is not intended for the design of RF coils. Therefore, we make no warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Neither the author nor the publisher assumes any liability of any alleged or actual damages arising from the use of or the inability to use this software.

Copying the software to another medium or format for use on a single computer does not violate the U.S. Copyright Law. Copying the software for any other purpose is a violation of the U.S. Copyright Law.
To facilitate the use of the software, the computer programs are written in MATLAB. Therefore, the software can be used only on a computer installed with the MATLAB software. The detailed description of the use of the software program and the principles behind are given in the book.
